With God, Nothing is Impossible
When Faith Meets Fatigue: A Testimony of God’s Provision
With God, truly nothing is impossible.
I am blown away recently by how God has been making things that feel so impossible, possible for me. I have a handful of chronic illnesses and one of the things I struggle with immensely is chronic fatigue. Each day looks different with chronic fatigue. Some days I have more energy than others and some days I have no useable energy at all. On the days where I feel low energy, I have to ration my energy to determine what I may be able to do that day. For example, on a low energy day I may ask myself whether I’m able to shower or do the dishes because I’m unable to do both tasks with the amount of energy I have.
Due to the severity of my chronic illnesses over the years, aspects of my personal hygiene have taken a hit. One of those being my hair. My hair had become tangled and matted pretty badly and I found myself becoming discouraged with how I would tackle my hair care needs. I had tried to detangle my hair on my own multiple times with no avail. I truly thought it was impossible and I had even looked into getting it professionally treated at multiple salons but was quoted $100/hr and that was just something I was unable to commit to.
Long story short, I prayed that God would sustain my energy and allow me to attempt to tackle the challenge one last time before seeking outside help and slowly, with lots of detangler and a special hair brush, what truly seemed to be impossible became possible. I had enough energy to detangle all of my hair and I am feeling so much better and in much better sprits knowing my hair is taken care of and that I was able to accomplish that.
Sure, my story is about detangling hair. But the message is still the same no matter what you are facing. Nothing is truly impossible with God. If you need help with something or if something seems bleak, pray. Ask God to help you. Then act in faith and trust that He will show up for you. Not only was I able to finally detangle my hair, I was also able to maintain a huge chunk of my energy. God truly took care of everything. If He can do it for me, He can and will absolutely do it for you.
