Welcome, I’m Delighted You’re Here!
No seriously, what a delight it is to have you here. You are valued and loved beyond measure by a God who will never stop relentlessly pursuing your heart for His name's sake (and I think you're pretty rad too!!).
I'm not sure what you were expecting when you clicked on this page, but I can tell you now that if you leave here feeling anything other than encouraged I'm doing something wrong. I am a firm believer of speaking life into any and everyone I meet simply because words are powerful and because one kind word can go a long way. However, I don't want you to believe that kind words will be shared in place or in the absence of truth because at the end of the day your soul and heart posture are more important than warm fuzzy feelings. In this post, I want to share a bit about who I am and about what you can expect from my corner of the internet.
Hi, I'm Ashley Hope!
I'm a 25-year-old Jesus follower who is real and raw about her struggles. I share pretty openly on my social media accounts about my battle with bipolar disorder and PTSD and I share my life following Jesus with mental illnesses. I love music and am currently really enjoying anything from Shane and Shane and my music taste shifts depending on my mood. I have a beagle pup named Sunnie (okay so she's 3 and not necessarily a pup but she will always be a pup to me) and I enjoy things that exude joy like the sun, chocolate chip cookies, iced coffee, stationery, and anything aesthetically pleasing. If you'd like to learn more about me check out the About Me page here on AHIC for 10 fun facts I want you to know about me.
What you can expect from AHIC.
Now you know a little bit about me, what's next?
I believe it's super important to be clear on what you can expect from me here on AHIC.
First and foremost you can expect encouragement. But not just a simple "You're doing great, have a wonderful day!" type of encouragement but the nitty-gritty "Hey life is hard and I see you and this is what the Bible says so go forth in grace and have a wonderful day!" type of encouragement.
Proverbs 16:24 - Kind words are like honey sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
I pray that here you will find kind words from a kind heart that lead you to think and help you grow stronger in your relationship with Jesus.
Why do I believe encouraging is so important?
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Because encouraging is one of the things the Bible calls us to do as a body of Christ! I have been blessed by people in my life who have shared encouraging words with me, I feel blessed and honored to be able to do the same for someone else.
What kind of content can I expect from AHIC?
You can expect personal life updates on where I am in my walk with Christ, mental health updates, devotionals, Bible studies, book reviews, Christian product reviews, Christian giveaways, and lifestyle content like favorite recipes and outfits! So you can pretty much expect a mixture of everything here - just keeping it real!
If this sounds like a place you'd like to be a part of, welcome, how exciting! I can't wait to see you around and I hope that you'll interact with me here and on social media!
See you in my next post! (or follow me on Insta (@ashleyhope.w) so we can see each other every day!)
